Stonly is motivated by the financial opportunity and long term benefits of decarbonization and increased resilience of society. Stonly's investment highlights include a pre-seed investment in Mill, founded by the founders of Nest (now Google Home), and a pre-seed investment in Future Motion, makers of the globally popular and category defining electric micro mobility device, Onewheel.

He previously helped BMW build and run the URBAN-X accelerator. In his early career, Stonly was an entrepreneur with a number of exits including to NetApp.
